Just having fun being a librarian.
Nothing of real note to blog about today. Just having fun being a librarian.
4our days left in the semester and really hoping those four days pass real quickly.
Then some time out at the lake with my son doing some camping and fishing hopefully.
Mainly just kickin it and watching some television and going for drives in the country.

Michael Vick
The Michael Vick story is disturbing in my opinion. I just read the indictment over at the Smoking Gun. It makes me sick. Even though I am not his biggest fan, I would hate for what was written to be true about any human.
People should not hurt animals!

Brian Eno--Song about reading.

Brian Eno - Cindy Tells Me Lyrics
Cindy Tells Me, the Rich Girls Are Weeping
Cindy Tells Me, They've Given Up Sleeping Alone
And Now They're So Confused By Their New Freedoms
And She Tells Me They're Selling Up Their Maisonettes
Left the Hotpoints to Rust in the Kitchenettes
And They're Saving Their Labour For Insane Reading.
Some of Them Lose - and Some of Them Lose
But That's What They Want - and That's What They Choose
It's a Burden - Such a Burden
Oh What a Burden to Be So Relied On.
Cindy Tell Me, What Will They Do With Their Lives
Living Quietly Like Labourer's Wives
Perhaps They'll Re-acquire Those Things They've All Disposed Of

Taking it to the streets!
Whew! What a day! Working on the third in a series of presentations for library patrons on Web 2.0 tools. Going to present four one hour workshops in the fall that I hope people will find useful. Of course, the usefulness is viewed through my own personal filters. Aiming for a slighter older crowd, as they use our library more than any other age group, but will wait and see who signs up.
Here is the title: Community 2.0 (pretty clever huh? I took the word community and put 2.0 after it, bet you hadn't thought of that.)
Workshop 1
Yahoo and Flickr
Workshop 2
Blogger and Twitter
Workshop 3
Del.icio.us and LibraryThing
Workshop 4
Youtube and Myspace & Facebook
Please let me know if you have any tips, tricks, tools, or suggestions.
Kind of walking into this one blind and face first.

Talking about lust and/or love.

Someone I know was recently talking about how they wanted an Apple.
So I thought I would show the one I like.......a lot.

Powne---5 invites left.
This is from the Pownce site:
"About Pownce
Pownce is a way to send stuff to your friends. What kind of stuff? You can send just about anything: music, photos, messages, links, events, and more. You can do it all on our web site, or install our lightweight desktop software that lets you get out of the browser.
Who makes this thing?
Pownce is brought to you by a bunch of geeks who were frustrated trying to send stuff from one cube to another."
******
I am currently checking this out and it looks kinda neat. It is working on the invite system for now. I have 5 invites left. Good news is that you start off with 6 invites.

One less class
(featured is my favorite image)
I know I shouldn't celebrate the end of every class, but darn it the end of LI820: International Information Policy is one of the happiest days of my life thus far.
Final Project
I know my instructor had never heard of a mindmap, so I am not fully convinced they will like the flickr posting as submission idea.
